Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Just as we knew it would, the sailfish fishing has picked up big time. The recent cold fronts have them snapping and in our area in big numbers. Several of our boats this week had double headers on live Goggle Eye's for bait as well as trolled bonita strips. The key to finding the sailfish has been spotting them from our large towers on the boat. Sometimes the fish will be right behind the boat and you wouldn't know if you didn't have the tower so that is a huge advantage for us.
The ballyhoo showers are solid and as of yesterday they moved onto the reef and have been getting crushed by kingfish, cero mackerel and mutton snapper. In fact, most boats are going out too far to find the fish, as we have been seeing sailfish in as shallow as 40 feet with the mackerels right there too. And you know that all fish love eating ballyhoo especially sailfish and big mutton snappers!
On the drift boat for $45/person, we have bee absolutely crushing the snappers! Our night trip has been doing very well on the vermilions with Captain Jimmy and the day trip has had mixed bags of fish. We are running 3 trips daily through the end of the year, so I recommend you reserve your space online.
That's the report for now. Come join us as our crew works hard to put you, your family and friends on trophy catches such as sailfish, mahi, tuna, sharks, snappers and more. I expect the fishing to be very good with all these ballyhoo around and the seas are very calm for a more enjoyable outing for all of our customers.
