Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

This morning we had Bob and his girls from Canada charter us. All I can say is wow! It was the first calm day we had in a while. We had fun kite fishing with live bait and caught 3 dolphin and then we had a surprise visitor. The 9 or 10 ft. hammerhead attempted to eat the live bait for about 45 minutes to no luck and went away mad and hungry! To bad! So sad! The girls caught another dolphin and we headed back in with big smiles having had a great time.

This afternoon the weather out there stayed pretty much the same and we had Bill and his son Parker from Dallas, Tx. and Gary from Pa. a repeat customer this week venture out with us on a shared charter. We trolled the first half of the trip and Gary caught a nice sized oceanic tuna but then Parker topped him with a huge 15 pound oceanic tuna! WOW! It was something. Second half of the trip we flew the kites with a mix of live baits and out of the glare it was sailfish on! Zipping away went the clicker on the reel and Bill grabbed the rod and reeled in himself a beautiful trophy of a sailfish!

We reset and boom! It was sailfish on! This time Gary from Pa. grabbed the reel and with Mate Kevin's instruction landed himself a beauty of a sailfish as well!

All in all we had two wonderful trips with excellent guests who will be back to experience the Reel Appeal way of fishing again and again!
