Sailfish, Sailfish and More Sailfish- They LOVE the Cold Weather

Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

The sailfish action is heating up. The weather is becoming FREEZING! (By Florida Standards). When the weather gets cold, the sailfishing gets hot. That is the general rule with these billfish. There is no better time to go big game fishing for sailfish than when there is a cold front coming through. Over the past few days, the weather has been in the 60s and 70s. Tomorrow, it looks like the weather will be in the 40s. Sailfish action has been good the past few days, but I expect tomorrow will make those days look like slow fishing. I plan to be bundled up in long pants, long sleeve shirt, sweater and a jacket, plus my rubber foul-weather gear overalls with bib. Well, it's January and the sailfish are biting, so I'm off to go catch some. Good luck everyone fishing this weekend. I'll sea ya out there on the water.
