Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Chooo-Chooo! The shark train is here. Every year, from March through May, we have an incredible migration through our waters of some of the biggest gamesharks there are. This year, we're having some of the best shark fishing I have ever seen. Some monster mako sharks have been caught, threshers are biting in greater numbers than we ever see them, some humongous hammerheads are biting and we're just getting started into the shark fishing season. At New Lattitude Sportfishing, big game fish are our specialty and sharks are the biggest fish out here to be caught. Hundreds of thousands of big sharks make their way through our waters this month, many of them along the inside edge of the Gulfstream which is only a couple miles offshore. This is the time of year to catch the biggest gamefish of the year off the coast of Fort Lauderdale.

The sailfish bite has been lighting up too. Sailfish love the chilly weather and this week the temperatures have dipped down to the 60s-70s. Sailfish get frisky when the weather gets brisk. The past 2 days have been great days for sailfish and we've caught some good number so them on our charters. Sailfish can be caught trolling or live baiting. Traditionally, sailfish are winter time fish, but the past few years there has been an improved bite for them in the Spring months. Last month, March had some great sailfish action and we're already seeing some sailfish excitement in April. This month, you can catch just about anything on our deep sea fishing charters. Good luck to everyone fishing over the next few days. The temperatures are going to be low over the weekend and should be prime conditions for some excellent sailfish action. I'll sea ya on the water.
