Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

June is finally here. That means hot weather is on the horizon and that this is the last month for awesome big game fishing in Fort Lauderdale. Fishing the summer months is great for mahi, tuna, wahoo, kingfish and bonitos. But if you want to catch big game fish such as sailfish and sharks, get out there now before the end of June. This is the last month of really good big game fishing we get until October swings around again. The sharks are all still migrating off the coast and you can catch dusky, hammerhead, mako, thresher, tiger, bull, sandbar and more. In a little over a month, when the bonitos start their big migraqtion down the coast, the sharks will be gone. But there's still time in the season to get them. This week, some big game fish have been biting on our shark fishing charters. Our GoPro got this big shark pic behind the boat in the water. Sailfish too, have been around a bit for some of our luckiest anglers. And some huge barracudas have been biting on the reef too. There are a lot of predator species around this month.

Big game fish aren't the only fish to be caught out there. We've had some good action this week on mahi-mahi too. Found a school of them offshore around a floating log in 600ft of water and we loaded the box with them. There are some good fish biting if you are lucky enough to find them. June is a transitional month for the fishing as the big game fish start to thin out and the reef fishing action begins. Good luck to everyone fishing this week. Tight Lines,
