Fishing Fort Lauderdale with Topshotfishing and Capt. Zsak

Efrain Ramos and his son, Efrain, Jr., from California along with friend, chartered the Topshotfishing team to do some deep sea big game sport fishing in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Winds were out of the east at 10 mph, seas running 2-3 ft., temperatures in the mid 80's. Efrain, Sr., a pool contractor, was in Fort Lauderdale for business and decided to combine business with pleasure by going out on a fishing charter.

Fifteen minutes after leaving the dock, we put lines in the water north of the sea buoy in Fort Lauderdale located in 120 ft. of water 1.8 miles from shore. We started off trolling the reef ranging from 80 ft. of water out to 150 ft. with two #8 plainers down – one with a 3 ½ blue reflector drone spoon and the other with a pink and blue sea witch in front of a double hooked Bonito strip. For surface baits we had two Ballyhoos and two Bonito strips. All three of our anglers rotated catching fish and caught a total of seven Black Fin Tunas, one Mackerel and three Bonitos.

With plenty of fish in the box for dinner tonight including Tuna sushi, it was time to head back – the anglers retired into the a/c salon for the relaxing trip back to the Bahia Mar Dock located at 801 Seabreeze Blvd. Fort Lauderdale 33316.
