Sportfishing Charters in Fort Lauderdale

Capt. Vinnie Sacks

Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hello everyone, Capt. Vinnie here this week fishing in Fort Lauderdale we have had some very weird weather, some days big seas with north winds and other days flat calm with west winds and it seems like every ocean condition imaginable. This week starting off trolling there has been a few fish early in the mornings a few wahoo if your lucky and a few tunas around also. Trolling baits around 200 on out to 400 feet has been the best area where the fish have been feeding, we have been having alot of our luck with baits fished under the surface while using a planner, anything hot pink or a deep purple has been the hot colors for the tuna this week, for the wahoo its been blue and white. Afternoons have been the most consistent trip as of late, specially an afternoon 6 hour trip it gives you enough time to be out there a little bit later in order to catch some of the blackfin tuna. Kite fishing this week has been pretty productive for fish like sailfish, fishing live bait suspended from a kite has been the best way to target hungry sailfish that have been swimming right down the coast. Bottom fishing this week has been so so there has been alot of heavy current flow and some of the bottom spots have been very tough to fish right now, on the days that there isn't that much current we have been catching a few vermillion snappers as well as a few larger mutton snapper, the vermillion snappers have been eating cut squid the best and the mutton snapper have been biting on live baits. Please be sure to check out some of the great photos of some recent catches we had this week during our deep sea fishing charters, also remember to follow us on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. Although this week the fishing has been a little slow at times we are defiantly giving it our all on every trip, the effort is there but sometimes the fish don't cooperate, I would expect to see some patterns start to develop as we approach the spring season and possibly some nice sized mahi mahi to show up with in a few weeks. We are fishing daily right now and hope to have another report for you guys soon, and if your coming down to Fort Lauderdale and looking to do some deep sea fishing please look us up we would love to have you and show you a great time on the water, more later...
