Spring Fishing in Fort Lauderdale

Capt. Vinnie Sacks
March 20, 2022
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here, been super bust the last week so sorry for the delay in the fishing report but I'm excited to share this one with you so here it goes... Finally spring is here and the fishing seems to be here with it also there has been lots of consistent action biting as of late right off the coast of Fort Lauderdale. Early morning fishing has been very good for quality fish right now trolling with lines in around 7am with the new time change we have allows you to get out there right when you need to just as the sun is coming up, wahoo has been the prized catch as of late and early morning is best like I stated earlier, also larger blackfin tuna have been prevalant early mornings too, trolling planers with seawitches and bonito strips with a blue color seawitch has been the most productive the depth from 200 feet on out to 400 feet is where we have been doing best, most of the wahoo we have been catching have been in the 20 to 30lb range and early morning blackfin tuna have been pushing 20lbs. After around 9:30am seems that the bite has been tapering off to almost nothing, at these times we have been doing some bottom fishing that has been productive for us, vermillion snapper and lane snapper have been the primary catch with a few large amberjack and porgy. The evenings have been absolutely fantastic for tuna fishing from the hours of 3pm to dark the tuna bite has been what we like to say "going off " lots of tuna around in the lower light conditions and there are hungry and eating pretty much anything you put out, depth around 200feet have been where to look. All in all the fishing that we have been looking for is here, lots of options of things to catch and different types of fishing to do, make sure this week that you check out some of the great pictures of some recent catches we have been having during our deep sea fishing charters out of fort Lauderdale. Remember to also follow us on social media platforms like Facebook and instagram for daily fishing content. This is just a taste of what is to come in the next few months, I can't wait for it to be in full effect if you are considering coming to fort Lauderdale and looking to do some deep sea fishing now is the time stay tuned for next weeks report I have a feeling its going to be a good one.
