Still Great Fishing

Capt. Vinnie Sacks

Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

We have had some great fishing on the YB Normal out of Fort Lauderdale Florida the last few days we had some great customers from New York, Mark and his son fished with us the morning of July 4th for a standard 4 hour trip we started out fishing planners and surface baits and the kingfish bite was on, we ended up getting our limit of nice kingfish ranging from 10 to 25lbs. after catching kingfish we decided to head out a little deeper in search of some mahi or tuna, the seaweed was plentiful out in the deep but we did manage some nice size bonito and a blackfin tuna that Mark and his son had took for dinner, over all a great trip with lots of action for these guys…
Today we had a great crew our friend Cal who lives in fort Lauderdale and Peyton and his girlfriend from Texas, Cal had brought his grand daughter out with us to catch some fish as well. The weather today was questionable due to rain and heavy winds so we decided to wait and leave a little bit later but the fish were biting immediately!!!
when we got out to the fishing grounds we used our standard spread of 2 planners down and 3 surface baits, our first bite was a great one and Peytons girlfriend was the angler it turned out to be a very large barracuda, we let him go to fight for another day still a great gamefish, we kept trolling in hopes of more bites we eneded up catching a bunch of very nice sized kingfish one of them being Cals young grand daughters first fish it was a nice one at that, we decided to remain trolling the entire trip because the action was quite steady we managed 6 nice kingfish a bonus cero mackeral that is a great eating fish and very good sushi, as well as 2 nice sized bonitos so all in all everyone was able to experience a few nice fish, we headed back to the dock right in the heart of Fort Lauderdale took some great photos and also filet some fish for a great dinner, till next time!!!
