Summer like Fishing Dolphin and Snappers

Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report
We are into what is like summer fishing. Its getting hot, the bait is here, calmer conditions and the fish are biting like its summer. We have been catching a good amount of dolphin. Most of these fish have been on the smaller side and have been on the reef (80ft) all the way out to 2000ft in the gulf stream if an edge forms. Best bet has been when the wind has been out of the N to SE for a couple days.
On the reef kingfish have been biting well off Fort Lauderdale. Fish from 5-30lbs have been fairly common over the past few weeks. We have been catching between 2-10 fish on our half day trips. We have been catching them best on the downrigger but also off the kite when the wind is up.
Mixed in on the reef are a few sailfish and we have been averaging 2-3 fish per week. There is always a chance at more, with 10+ fish day a possibility still, it is getting harder and harder to find the right conditions for them.
On the bottom the muttons have started to gather on the wrecks and reefs off Ft. Lauderdale. We have been catching fish from 2-12lbs over the past two weeks. These are some of the best fighting and tasting critter in the ocean. While targeting them we have caught a good amount of cobia. These fish are heading north while following manta rays, but occasionally take a break on some of the local wrecks and reefs. Another great fighting fish and tasting fish.
Swordfishing remains steady, though we havent had many trips recently there is a good chance at quality fish both day and night if you want to try. Fish at night have been in the 30-130lbs range and day fish coming in slightly larger.
