Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

April 20 24, 2014

The fishing has been phenomenal this week with lots of blackfin tunas on the troll, as well as a few mahi-mahi, and wahoo. The shark bite continues, with both a nice Mako and a thresher hooked up on Sunday. On Monday we hooked up two hammerheads.

A good friend of mine, Karina, chartered the boat for a full day on the 23rd for live bait fishing. We caught several kings up to 40 pounds and a big hammerhead shark. We also bottomfished and got into the groupers, catching and releasing reds, gags and blacks. These were all nice fish but we released them all as grouper are not in season.
