More unbelievable sail fishing off the coast of South florida ab

Capt. Taco Perez
December 23, 2010
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Today we had Debra and her daughter Jenifer and her son Brandon who is down here from Knoxville Tenn. on a golf tournament.

We started out picking up some live baits (goggle eyes) from the bait boat and took off running to the north to get far away from the rest of the fishing fleet.

Once we got up north off the coast of Pompano we set out both our kites with two baits suspended from each kite and another bait out of the out rigger.

At first it took and bit of waiting after the trap was set but all at once up popped this sailfish all over our right short kite bait.
J.J. locked up the reel handed it to Brandon as I went ahead with the boat and we were Hooked Up.

This was one crazy sail fish it started out jumping all over the surface but then he just got his head down and just kept digging down.

Than as Brandon got him closer to the boat it went nuts again and was dancing all over the back of the boat.

At last Brandon's sail made the wrong turn and J.J. was able to get him into the boat.
Way to hang in there Brandon.

Ok now thing were looking a lot better for us and before you knew it we had all 4 baits back out.

No sooner did J.J. get the baits back out there when BAM another sail popped up and once again we were Hooked Up.

This time Jenifer jumped in the chair and the fight was on.
It took a good 15 min till we got her fish close enough to the boat to get some great pictures of him jumping behind the boat.

Ok 2 down and now what to do???

We talked it over and decided to try some trolling to see if we could catch a few more fish in a short time we had left.

As it turned out we could do no wrong today.

At first trolling was slow but once we found the school of kings we ended up catching them one after another.

Guy's thanks again for a fun morning of Deep-sea fishing off the coast of Fort Lauderdale aboard the Hooked Up.

More Fishing Reports:

Hi my name is Taco and I run one of the best charter fishing boats down here in South Florida. WHY? Because I’ve been fishing the waters down here since 1969 and I started at the bottom and worked my way up the ladder. I know what it is like to read a web site and than once you get to boat things are not as you thought they would be. Not here I say it like it is. No surprises. I’ve got a 45 foot Hatteras with a big cock pit. Fully aircondishened and refrigerated. Big comfortable platform.
