Bad Weather But Good Fishing In Ft Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

The weather in Fort Lauderdale is really depressing this week. Lots of rain and there's some wind too. For those brave enough to face the elements, these conditions offer great fishing opportunities. Fish bite really good when the pressure is low. Mahi-mahi and wahoo bite especially good when the conditions are adverse. The past few days we're getting into some nice size wahoo, some mahi-mahi, kingfish and surprisingly even some tunas, which are usually the more fair weather fish. All these pelagic species are making up the majority of our catches this week while we get pummeled by this funnel of water coming up from Cuba. While it's not the most comfortable conditions to fish in, you may catch some of the bigger and more sought after fish Fort Lauderdale has to offer by fishing when others shy away from it. When it's a rainy day, there's also less boats out there to compete with, so more fish for you. I always try to look at the bright side of things. Good luck to everyone fishing these next few days. Stay as dry as you can and throw out some lures. The fish are hungry. Sea you on the water.
