Backbay Action Hot
Capt. Ron Kowalyk
October 25, 2013
Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report
Backbay: We had excellent redfish action with super slot fatty sows, "humpies" 26 plus inches and around 9-11 lbs. nice fish. Shiners, shrimp and cutbait all took a share. We got luck and cast netted a patch of finger mullet and our results were outstanding sports. We hooked on the first cast in nearly ever one of our million and one supposed hot spots, everybody else had their hot spot too I guess, there was a line at the cleaning table. Tough life ha!
Trout were on a chew in the green water nearer the in or near the passes. Shiners, shrimp jigged jigs and weighted white and green streamers all took a share. There are some near gator specks in the 24 plus inch range but lots of slotties for the pan. Baby Tarpon are in the wayback creeks and rivers with mobs of oversized jacks for company, fly guys had a ball with the jacks. A fish, is a fish, is a fish. Get your buggy whip bent in the feeder creeks, good stuff sports fans.
