You don't need a boat for snook or tarpon

Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

OK, I know what you're already saying...Have you caught a beach snook and tarpon while hoofing it? Yes and No. Scoring Snook is a piece of cake providing you wear stone colored shorts or khaki and pink, light blue, or white shirt. You think I'm kiddin'? Try walking the beach with black or dark shorts. Snook have good eyes. As well, don't be a Total Doofous and walk in the water. If you know what you are doing, your feet never get wet. Getting the sun at your back (early AM) is pretty much done for you as we are on the West Coast and the last time I checked, the sun rises in the east. Dudes, walk slowly and wear light enhancing sunglasses. Amber. The only thing you need is Yo-Zuri Hybrid Invis Line, Invisible Pink Leader (20LB) and a 1/4 white bucktail. Snook love a great chase. Add some GiddyUp to your retrieve. I scored numerous snook walking the beach near the Sanibel Lighthouse.

Tarpon. I missed a bruiser from the beach. He was not more than 20 feet from me when I hooked him. I was so excited I couldn't breathe. (Kinda like you get when you see Megan Fox is the best I can do). Anyone, I totally blew it from the standpoint of fishing a Cabo 20 Quantum instead of a Cabo 30. I love that little 20 but just couldn't do anything with him.

Big Spanish near the channel markers. Sammy Sosa/Mark McGuire type fish.

Tarpon are in Boca Grande Pass big time but who wants that madness? "GiddyUp"
