Check out the way this snook is being held

Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

Remember when I said, "Leave our snook alone even when it comes to catch and release." Check out the snook in this picture! OK, you are welcome.

Imagine you are fighting and dodging bullets in Afg/Iraq or guard the bags of waste (Detainees) in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. You come back to the US and what is the first thing you want to do? That's easy. How about the second thing? For the last 6 YEARS it has been my personal mission to make sure every US Soldier/Marine/Navy/AF/Coast Guard are provided (1) an Inshore fishing trip and (2) Offshore trip. Thus far over 2568 have come to SW FL with their families to enjoy this incredible benefit. I'M TALKING FREE OF CHARGE PEOPLE. OUR TROOPS CANNOT TIP ANY OF OUR 30+ Pro Guides. Our Troops CANNOT give Our Guides "Gas Money." Lodging is free. Restaurants are free. Golf is free. Bowling/Tennis/Dental/PTSD care is free.

Sport Fishing Magazine has nominated me nationally for "Making a Difference." Others nominated include Dr Guy Harvey and Bouncer Smith. Anyway, those my charity provides for protect Our Freedoms and risk their flippin' lives for us. They have been to war 4-5 times and no end appears in sight.

Do I deserve your vote in this National Contest? Where else can Our Troops go in the US and get free fishing, lodging, restaurants, golf, ect for up to 2 weeks? Answer is NOWHERE.

I know I bring an "edge" to this fishing site but one thing is for sure. YOU GET THE TRUTH. If there is Red Tide, I tell you. If we need to give our snook a rest after the population has been devastated by frigid waters, I ask your cooperation for the good of the fishery. If our new Gov needs to grow a pair and immediately reopen grouper in State Waters, I tell you and Rick Scott. "Hey Rick, grow a pair and open Our Fishery in State Waters for recreational anglers and fishing guides!" There.

But know this. My life's work has been to make a difference in the lives of US Troops on their combat leaves. Is Dr. Guy Harvey more deserving than Capt GiddyUp? I don't know but he sure has me 16 ways from Sunday on name recognition. In my opinion, I picked the men and women most deserving of a free fishing trip.
The men and women who wear the uniform of our Armed Forces who have been serving overseas. My choice was easy. American Heroes who serve Our Country.
