Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing report for the week ending 9/26/2011
Fall redfish are schooling up with good numbers of 3-4lb. fish being found all thru the bay, many of these fish are the ones we had been catching last fall and this spring. These reds are now in the slot and are fat and hungry.

Ones like this nice over slot fish Fran Peters caught using cut ladyfish are showing up to join the smaller ones. This is one of my favorite times of the year to throw artificials, topwater skitterwalks and redfish magic.
There are loads of ladyfish and mackerel feeding on small baitfish in the bays, around the passes and off the beaches. Great action.
There have been a few small schools of tarpon showing up in Pine Island sound and off the beaches of Captiva. This is a awsome time to fish, no crowds and hungry schooling fish.
