It's been tough to head out during Tropical Storm Andrea but, we were able to get out a few days before and the fish were hungry. Fishing the nearshore wrecks off Ft. Myers at this time of the year provides good numbers of snook and trout. These fish are spawning so their pretty easy to target. Snook season is still closed so PLEASE handle them with care. Choice of bait is live thread herring pinned to the bottom or freelined. The rig of choice is 40-50# fluorocarbon leader with a 5/0 L197 circle hook. There are good numbers of mackeral, jacks, sharks and grouper. Also, while the water warms up the goliath grouper moves in on these structures so hold on tight. I expect the fishing to good after Tropical Storm Andrea. Kids are out of school so get out there and fish.
