Make sure to check the weather the next few days before heading

Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

There's some windy and rainy days coming up. Make sure to check the radar, bilge pumps, batteries and foul weather gear before heading out. The past week was hit or miss inshore. The key to success is get out early before it gets to hot. Inshore fishing is producing 18-23"reds and some trout and jacks. Chunk ladyfish cut into 2" pieces with a 1/4oz jighead pitched in the mangroves work best for my clients.
The nearshore structures are holding a lot of nice trout, snook, grouper, snapper, sharks and big spanish mackeral. The choice of bait is live threadfins on the bottom and freeliners on the top. Finally, gag grouper opens July 1st.

More Fishing Reports:

I specialize in light tackle saltwater fishing in the pristine backbays and nearshore wrecks of Southwest Florida. Whether we're targeting snook, redfish, or trout in the backbays or cobia, permit, shark, grouper, or tarpon on the wrecks. Whether you're a novice or an expert angler, i will take great pride sharing my knowledge and insight to provide my anglers with an enjoyable experience. Kids are always welcomed.
