Nearshore Wrecks and Back Bay Fishing!

Capt. Scott Theis
April 30, 2012
Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

Nearshore Wrecks- It's been windy the past week, but finally slowed down for a few days. The cobia bite has picked up using big thread herring and pinfish. There's a lot of just below slot fish. Also the mackeral and bluefish bite is really good. Tarpon are passing through these structures. Threadies are the choice of bait. There's been a few tripletail hanging around the crab pots.
Back Bays- It is hit or miss due to the winds and water clarity. Were pitching chunk ladyfish and thread herring underneath the bushes for redfish. Dead bait is a go to when the water is filthy. The trout are still around, but fairly small in estero bay. The bigger ones are sittng on the outskirts of the wrecks were fishing.
