Southwest Florida Fishing Report - Bonita Springs to Captiva

Capt. John GiddyUp-Bunch
November 18, 2007
Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

Flounder? Big Flounder in SW FL? Yup. We ran into a bunch of them today. Tomorrow mine goes on the grill!

Water temps are dropping and the offshore grouper are moving nearshore/inshore. The Little Tunny (Bonita) run has gone on the QT. King Macks have been tough for me to find. With the price of gas going higher and higher, there is no more fishing for fun. That boat on my lift is a work boat. In my opinion, the US Gov needs to send me tp Kuwaait. "Hey boys, we saved your ass and we need some gas. Does "USE GUPS" have a problem with that? Anyway, my report is short and sweet.

Snook season is over and all reports have the season as disappointing. Believe it or not, snook are still on the beach but will soon migrate to the back country.

Redfish: With 4-5 Redfish Tournaments per week around this F-Place, our Redfish population is under severe pressure. Reds can be found in South Matlacha Pass and north of Chino Island. I still like ladyfish for bait (cut).

Trout are out of season when they should not be. Anyway, big trout are seemingly everywhere north of Redfish Pass and especially around the Fish Shacks.

GiddyUp!
