Southwest Florida Fishing Report - Bonita Springs to Captiva

Capt. John GiddyUp-Bunch
December 3, 2007
Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

Effective December 1, 2007 Snook and Trout are strictly off limits. If you know anyone breaking the rules and harvesting these fish out of season, tell me and I will report them to FWC. If we can stick a conviction, I'll score you a brand new Rogue Rod or a New Quantum Reel. Cheaters piss me off and I want them. Bad.

King Mack fishing is slowing. We scored a couple on Sunday but I expected so much more. Try Mann's Stretch 25+ SDRB-600 Holo Mullet. This bad boy lure will get er' done for you. Screw wire. Troll these lures with Yo-Zuri Pink Flurocarbon (if you buy cheap leader, you shoot yourself in the foot)

Pompano are jumping in the boats of other guides but just hitting the sides of fine. If the Ladyfish will leave you alone you can have a blast.

Tripletail are here but very scarse. Try the crab pots in 30FT of water. We've scored some nice ones recently. Pinfish under a cork float or life shrimp under a cork float. Fish are in the 10-12LB range.

Redfish: I'll be looking for them on a charter on Wed.

GiddyUp!
