Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

The summer weather pattern is here so that means to watch out for the thunderstorms. Always check the radar on your phones while on the water. The wind finally has calm down to head out and fish the shallow water wrecks. The cobia fishing is starting to pick up using live thread herring and a 50# flourocarbon leader with a 4/0 cicle hook. While fishing the wrecks there are grouper, snapper, sharks, trout, snook all in the mix.

The redfish bite is getting better around the oyster bars and mangrove shorelines. Pilchards and pinfish are the choice of baits fishing the higher tides and moving water. Look for healthy grass flats for the trout in 3-4' of water using a popping cork and a live pilchard.
