Less Tarpon "As good as it gets!"

Capt. John GiddyUp-Bunch

Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

As we wait for Hurricane Fay, pls allow me to publish a report that is like all others all the time. THE FISHING IN SW FL IS ON FIRE. Redfish, Bluefish, Snook, and especially Redfish. As you all know (by now), my reports contain NO FLUFF and NO BS. This policy offers insight into why some readers don't like some of my reports. You know and I know people like good news. Bad news sucks but where does that leave an honest Professional Fishing Guide with an honest report? Sorry but I'll never blow smoke up your glutes when I go out there and get skunked. It happens to all Pros and it only makes sense that you don't get lucky every time you go to town. Enough said. ONWARD!

NO TARPON:

Gator Trout: It has been amazing. I had back to back charters (AM/PM) and the action never stopped. What were "they" hitting? DOA Shrimp. Bagley Spoons, and the giant trout were ripping Yo-Zuri Crystal Minnows (with all barbs depressed on all hooks). Many of my charter customer must see a the F-Goodyear Blimp flying over with a sign saying "Fish On" before they set the hook and actually believe it. But, it all good as chances are I wouldn't know JACK about their jobs. I like depressing the BARBS to save our species.

BLUEFISH: These great fish are fun to catch and delicious to eat. Fishy tasting? What is more sexy to you a woman just back from the gym or a woman fresh out of the shower? HINT: You don't need to add salt to a gym rat. Everything is already properly seasoned. GiddyUp! The oiler the better says this Captain. I love to eat RAUNCHY not delicate. Yum/YUM/Yum! Talapia? A real man does not eat f-Talapia. Catch all the Bluefish you can and allow them to spend an hour submerged in cold milk (if you must). This will take away some of the poon-tang taste. HOW ABOUT THAT WORD FROM YEARS GONE BY. POON-TANG. That word really cracks me up.

Redfish: Last 2 hours of the Incoming and First 2 Hours of Outgoing. Throw anything near the mangroves or oysters bars in Pine Island Sound. Regala. Chino. Demere. If you run out of bait, pick a brick from your nose and throw it out there. In other words fish junkies, it is on-fire. Dead Shrimp. Cut Ladyfish. Cut Pinfish. Just lay it out there and they will come. Righteous size reds as well.

It can't get any better than how it is right now in SW FL. Will I be out there today (Sunday) messing around for pleasure? Hell no. I'll be watching Ladies Beach Volley Ball Replays all afternoon. PLS don't call and disturb me. GiddyUp!
