Things were on Fire for 1 Hour....Strange Day

Capt. John GiddyUp-Bunch

Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

My every instincts given all the info available to me was to troll Big Lips (+25 Deep Divers) first thing this AM. The colors of choice were Orange and Pink. Go ahead and say it. WHAT? One of my findings is how hot these colors are in certain light conditions and water clarity. My choice this AM was the MR111 series from MirrOLure.

For about 45 minutes, we slammed em'. 41" Snook, 2 Kings, 2 Gag Grouper, and 1 Cobia. And then like a F-Light Switch, it was over. The only thing I can compare it to is great sex. Incredible/amazing/from another universe and then it is time to have a cigarette or "talk". Yeah, just like that. Fish were flying through the air, birds were all over the place, and bait was abundant. Then the wind comes up signaling the time to go inside.

Before I move on, the first of the Outgoing Tide was the meal ticket. First light. Again, it was amazing.

My next move was to catch Ladyfish. We soaked the ladies on the bottom and scored Reds and Snook but nothing to brag about. Once the tide stop moving, I told my 6 Hour Charter not to waste their remaining 2 hours. They said, "You've got to be kidding?" We caught no snook, reds, or catfish in the last 2 hours. No Trout. No nothin'. Tide has to move. Same old story.

Big Cold Front moving in tomorrow. Water temps today was 63 early to 67 later. Look for the Cold Front to cause LOCKJAW. "GiddyUp"
