Winterover Patterns In Fill Swing

Capt. Ron Kowalyk
November 27, 2014
Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

Backbay: My crews had a world tour of Estero Bay and San Carlos Bay on the hunt fro red November. We used fat winter shrimp and cut ladies and hooked a bunch of rat reds and a very few slot fish. Other crews reported better luck but i didn't see many spotails at the cleaning tables at Punta Rasa and Lovers Key. The best redfish action was up north in Charlotte Harbor but they suffered from low tide fever like the rest of use
If you're going out this weekend either get up before the chickens or wait til afternoon for fishable water. The river mouths, canals and passes should provide angling opts throughout the day. Snook are on the chew in the wayback creeks and around the docks in Matanzas Pass, the Imperial River and of course the Peace and Myakka rivers. snookers pitched scent softplastics and whitebait at the liners. We picked up a mess of juvie's on shrimp in Mullock Creeks, other struck gold in the Imperial and Estero rivers. Fly guys had a ball with big jacks and a few snook in the feeder creeks.
