Fishing Report for Ft. Pierce, Florida

Capt. Joe Ward
April 1, 2001
Fort Pierce - Saltwater Fishing Report

INSHORE - Well, if it's windy conditions you like then you have been in hog heaven since Wednesday, but even with all the wind the fish have been feeding on a regular basis. The snook that have been caught were taken before daylight from around the North Bridge on mullet. The Turning Basin has been producing some small snook as has the Jetty. These snook were caught on live shrimp. Trout fishing has been red hot for the waders just about any where you could get out of the wind. Live shrimp or jerk worms were working the best. The sheephead and snad perch are still going strong on the catwalks of the South Bridge along with several nice flounder and a run on spanish mackerel.

Sorry for the short report but you can't change what Mother nature does.

Until next week, good fishing
