Fishing Report for Ft. Pierce, Florida

Capt. Joe Ward
April 13, 2001
Fort Pierce - Saltwater Fishing Report

INSHORE - The inshore fishing has been on and off this week for snook. Just before daylight has been the best time to land a snook in the Turning Basin when using live shrimp. During the day the Inlet has been the place to be with pigfish, pinfish or some type of live bait and the North Bridge has been the spot to be at night when fishing with live shrimp or feathers. Trout fishing has been good all week with most of the trout coming from the North around Harbor Branch and Round Island. Sofe jerk baits in light colors have been working the best. The sheephead, sand perch and snapper have finally slowed a little on the catwalks of the South Bridge but are still feeding on the full tide.

SURF - The surf fishing has been good all week from the Ocean Village area down to Blind Creek when fishing in the early morning hours. Whiting, blue fish and a few small pompano were the most caught fish this past week.

Until next time, good fishing.
