Fort Pierce - Saltwater Fishing Report

Inshore fishing has been good this week with only a few days of heavy winds. I had two trips out of Vero Beach this week and we were very succesful on both trips. We had nice catches of snook, trout and all the big jacks we could get to the boat. We were fishing to the North of the Barber Bridge.
TROUT - The trout action in the Ft. Pierce area has been good almost all week. There have been reports from all the local bait and tackle shops of nice size trout being caught. Ons shop reported that a 7 & 1/2 pound trout was caught on a chartreuse boomer and another reported that one angler had 5 trout to 5 pounds while fishing to the north in the river and using live shrimp.
SNOOK - With the dregging on the Ft. Pierce Inlet going on the snook action has slowed a little at this spot. One angler did manage to get one 15 pounder out of the Inlet using a live greenie. The Turning Basin did produce a few snook also. On Friday one of my anglers got 2 snook to 15 pounds using live pinfish.
SURF - The pompano fishing has slowed way down but there are still plenty of whiting, blue fish and big jacks in the surf. There have also been a few spanish mackeral caught in the surf just south of the Ocean Villiage area.
I would like to say WAY TO GO to my son and the guys from the fishing boat SURE THING. They placed 5th in the S.K.A. tournement held this past Friday and Saturday in Stuart, Fl.
REMINDER - With the summer weather already here try to remember your sun safety equipment. SUN SCREEN - HATS - LONG SLEEVE SHRITS - SUN GLASSES - PLENTY OF WATER.
Until next week Good Fishing
