Kingfish and Sailfish on the Reef

Capt. Ralph Mayans
September 2, 2016
Haulover Inlet - Saltwater Fishing Report

It's been really good fishing now that the winds have died down. There's a good kingfish bite on the reef. We've been trolling drone spoons and bonito strips. The bite seems to be between 95 to 115 feet of water.

There's also a few sailfish around. I expect the numbers to increase as we start getting our first cold fronts later this year. This sailfish was captured by Bo and his son from Turkey. This particular sailfish ate a trolled ballyhoo. I'm sure the fishing is going to get better and better as winter approaches.
