Chase N' Tails Fishing Charters - Inshore Fishing Report
The inshore waters of the Nature Coast are heating up quickly do to the hot day time and night time temperatures. The trout are on the move from the shallow grass flats to the deeper flats in 8 to 10 feet on spotty bottom. A 1/4 ounce jig head and a soft plastic lure such as the Lil Jons and Gulp shrimp are doing the trick. Work the jig at a slow speed across the sea floor pooping the rod tip the trout are hitting the jig on the fall of the pop. Red fish are moving around a lot, one day they are thick in one area the next day they are gone. So work a lot of shore line and look for the mullet schools and structure, rocks, oysters, mangroves all hold red fish. Live bait is working the best for me. Pin fish and green backs are my bait of choice. Cobia are here and they are monsters, look in areas from 3 to 10 feet around crab traps, tri pods, rocky bottom, and on the backs of sting rays and turtles. Any live bait should work just fine. Tarpon should be here any day now so keep your eye out for the silver king. Book a trip and get into the hot action.
