Fishing And Scalloping

Capt. Josh Fritz
July 7, 2014
Hernando Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Redfish action is great in the early mornings with a good moving tide. On my recent charters this week we have caught redfish from 22 to 30 inches by 10am the bite slows down. Green backs and pin fish are my top baits for summer fishing. Snook action is steady but you need to chum them up with green backs to get them to eat good. Trout bite is picking up in the deeper flats 10 to 13 feet. A 1/4 to 3/8 ounce jighead with a white little john is the way to go. Gag grouper bite is good the 9 to 12 feet range is holding some big gags to 33 inches on the right rock. Just the other day we limited out with 6 gags from 24 to 31 inches free lining green backs on the rocks.

Scallop season is on FIRE every scallop trip i have done from opening day to know we have limited out in under 2 hours.

Book your trip ASAP with scallop season here dates are filling up fast.
