Great Fishing Action

Capt. Josh Fritz
May 15, 2012
Hernando Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fishing in the shallow back country from Aripeka to Chassahowitzka is great. We got trout and red fish holding in the same area's, target rocky shore lines and points with a good current flow. Top water lures are getting smashed all day long. My go to top water lures right now are the Spook Jr in the Bone color and the Skitter Walk (SW08) in the mullet color are producing some very nice reds and trout. Bait is working great as well live pin fish rigged with a 3/0 circle hook is candy to a red fish or trout. Pompano are still hanging around the shallow rock piles in 4 to 6 feet of water. The best catches is coming on a Mirr O Dine 17Mr in the 808, 50, and 808BG color's, if you are not sure what colors those are stop into Precision Tackle and Dave will show you them they work very very good. Tarpon season is ON BIG TIME, if you would like to tangle with a monster tarpon or catch some red fish and trout along with other game fish give me a call I will show you a great day on the water.
