Great Fishing Action and Scallop Season Starts Soon

Capt. Josh Fritz
June 5, 2012
Hernando Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Man fishing has been great. Red fish are schooling up in good size schools 6 to 15 per school, look around the outside points and rocky shorelines. Live bait is getting the best action, pin fish and green backs is the way to go. Trout are making there way out to the deeper flats 8 to 10 feet of water. A 1/4 ounce jig head and a white gulp shrimp is getting the job done. Tarpon are here in great numbers but they are being pickey on what they want to eat at times. Early moring hours are getting the best action live crabs are working very good. Scallop season starts July 1St I am expecting the same great results as last year. Last year we limited out on scallops in one hour or less in the Hernando Beach area. Stop into Precision Tackle for you fishing and scalloping needs Dave has it. Book a scallop trip and or fishing and scalloping trip befor July 1St to get a great rate for up to 4 anglers. Call me for info.
