Hernando Beach Fishing Is Great

Hernando Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Chase N' Tails Fishing Charters - Great Inshore Action Right Now -

Finally we got some heat back into the forecast. The back creeks and coves that have springs near by are holding the most fish right now, such as red fish, trout, black drum, sheepshead, lady fish, and jacks are there to be caught. Red fish are all over the place and feeding great a 1/8oz jig with a white or new penny gulp shrimp works or live shrimp. When I use live shrimp I like to pinch off the tail of the shrimp to release sent with a 1/0 or 2/0 circle hook and 20lb leader, look for the mullet schools jumping and making nervous water the reds are there. Trout are in the deeper holes and around oyster bars a white jerk bait has been really good and a mirror-lure mirror dean is also working great the trout are in the upper slot and well over 18-28 inches. A top water plug will work too but you need to work the lure very slow since the water is so cold the trout can be sluggish at times so if you think you are retrieving slow enough go slower. Now the black drum are out and taking over the rocks and deep holes we are catching these drum up to 24 inches and they make great fight not to mention great table fair. The rig I use is a number 1 hook with a small split shot and a live shrimp with the tail pinch off or a new penny gulp shrimp on a number 1 hook on the bottom (aka dead sticking) will work just as good. There are tons of fish to be caught and pretty easy so bundle up and lets go fishing. Follow me on Face book..
