hernando beach fishing report

Capt. Keith Tomlinson
January 4, 2009
Hernando Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

The water is clear and the best bite in our areA has been in 8 - 10 feet of water. on the flats when we see birds that tells us there is fish there also. the birds usually follow the bait schools and feed and so do trout, reds, jacks, blues and others. we are still getting bull reds offshore in the 10 foot depth. the trout seem to be there also.BE READY FOR THAT GROUPER HIT!!!! drift with free lined shrimp and when the bite turns on drop anchor and fish till it slows and then start another drift and repeat. In the back country the morning bite has been the best. Bayport and filmans has been producing good numbers.

tight lines and best wishes!
