Hernando Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hernando Beach Fishing Report

Capt. Josh Fritz

Inshore fishing action is very good, Speckled trout are thick in 1 to 4 feet of water in the backcountry waters. Lures are working great for trout and red fish, soft plastic little johns in the golden bream, white, and root beer color is producing very well. Top water plugs worked slow will get crushed by trout I like the spook Jr in the bone color. Red fish are chewing good on the incoming and first out going tide. Live shrimp or pin fish for bait or rig up a 1/8 ounce jig head with a golden bream little john will work good. Target areas with lots of mullet and structure the reds are holding right in the mix of them. On a big low tide the reds are tailing on the flats making for some exciting fishing action. Black drum are all over the place we are catching them in pot holes, oyster bars and around springs live shrimp is best rig them with a 1/0 circle hook and a 20 pound leader.

Stop into Precision Tackle located in Spring Hill Fl in the Well Care plaza Dave with get you ready for fishing.
