Insane Fishing Action

Capt. Josh Fritz
September 22, 2015
Hernando Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fall fishing patterns are taking place. Red fish are schooled up on the outside points and islands, look for big mullet schools and you will be in the red fish. Live bait is producing the best action. Live green backs and pin fish are getting crushed from uper slot and over slot reds, last of the incoming and first half of the outgoing tide is very good action. Speckled trout action has really turned on big time, we are catcing a bunch of trout from 4 to 9 feet of water. A lot of small 14 to 14 1/2 inch trout but work through them we are getting our limit of trout every day. White little jons on a 1/4 ounch jig head has been working great for me and my clients. Snook action is great as well fish the mangrove points, cuts, and holes with a good current flow live green backs is the way to go.

Shallow water grouper action is ON FIRE, we are catching some monster gags from 7 to 10 feet . Yesterday I took out Capt. Dencil and Capt. Chazz for a fun day of cacthing grouper in shallow water we caught 2 monster gags in 9.5 feet a 33 inch and 35 inch gag grouper. We got our boat limit of 6 in no time at all. Best bite is early with a good high tide, Frozen threadfins, boston mackerel, and pin fish is the best bait.
