Mack Attack

Hernando Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hernando Beach Fishing Report

Fishing is great right now we have a mack attack out there in 6 to 10 feet of water. Spanish mackerel are all over the place along with blue fish. Use a 30 pound leader with a 1/4 ounce jig head and a white gulp shrimp, work the jig quickly and the macks will slam it. Inshore the trout action is still very strong, target 1 to 5 feet of water around grass and pot holes. Use a 1/8 ounce jig head and a gulp shrimp or lil jon jig. Red fish are moving around a lot they are in one stop one day and the next day they are gone. Look for areas with good structure rocks/oyster beds,& mangroves. Live bait has been the best but we are getting some reds on top water lures such as the spook jr, or a gulp shrimp rigged weedless. For the bait use jumbo shrimp, pin fish, or cut mullet. The green backs should be here in a few weeks when they arrive I highly recammond using them trout, snook, reds shoot every thing loves green backs. Soon Tarpon will be here I think they will arrive early mid to late April. Fishing is AWESOME right now book your self a great fishing adventure and lets catch some fish. April is just about filled up give me a call ASAP.
