March Fishing Is On Fire

Capt. Josh Fritz
March 2, 2012
Hernando Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

March is here and the fishing is on FIRE...

March starts off with a bang in the Hernando Beach area waters, huge schools of red fish are showing up from Aripeka to Chazz. Target these big schools of reds on a incoming tide for best action, live bait is the ticket right now shrimp, pin fish, and green backs are getting the red fish to eat. The size of the schools that are here are in the 12 to 30 fish per school and all in the upper slot and over. Look for the mullet schools I am finding the red fish hanging just off the shore line 10 to 15 feet even on the high tide. Lure action has been slow but a Gulp 3" shrimp or the 3" trigger X shrimp will get bite. Trout are still hanging around the shallow grass flats and oyster bars, use a mirr o lure lil Jon in the glow color with a 1/8oz jig head will do the job. Book a trip fishing is very good right now and will stay this way for a few months.
