Tarpon, Snook & Redfish

Capt. Josh Fritz
June 3, 2014
Hernando Beach - Saltwater Fishing Report

Its now June and the fishing is steady with good catches of snook and red fish along our local inshore waters. Live green backs are the bait of choice for these hungry game fish. A good moving tide is what you will need for a good snook bite Ii like a high out going tide for snook and a moving tide for reds. Target mangrove points and oyster bars for snook and reds.

Trout action is good in 3 to 7 feet of water, The rig that is producing some good catches is a D.O.A Deadly combo with a clear/ gold flake shrimp.

Tarpon are here along the inshore waters in 3 to 8 feet get out from Bayport north to Homosassa.

Scallop season starts on June 28th.
