Central Indian River Lagoon

Indian River Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

Fish On!

Sorry, but I only have time for a quick report this week then I am off on another trip. Busy, busy, busy. Not much to say except the trout are hitting along with some reds, snook, jacks, and ladyfish. Tarpon are in the Sebastian and cooperating occasionally. I have been targeting larger fish so the numbers have not been high, but some nice fish have been caught. Dave and Jeff can attest to this. A few days ago Jeff put a 28-29 inch 81/2 lb trout in the boat. Good job Jeff. That is a trophy in any book. Since that time we have boated several fish in the 25 in range and many over 20 in. The trout are coming using all methods that I use. It just depends on the conditions. Jigs, jerk baits, diving plugs, and top-water. You can expect all the other aforementioned species to take these presentations as well. Just get out there and fish and you should do well. Concentrate on the islands and flats in 2-3 feet of water between Grant and Wabasso. Sorry for the brevity but there are fish to catch. Good luck and tight lines.

Sincerely,

Capt. Ron.
