Central Indian River Lagoon

Indian River Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Ron Bielefeld's Indian River Fishing Report - Sebstian Area

This is going to be a short report. I have been slipping out now and again these last few weeks as the rain continued to pelt down. We received about 15 inches recently and the freshwater inflow has change the fishing for the worse. Action on the flats has slowed considerably. We are finding fish from time to time, but not consistently. Areas of water flow have been producing some snook and reds, but many areas have received so much inflow that it has disrupted bait movements in the area and thus the predatory fish are not using these spots. A recent trip outside to the beaches was uneventful, but with the calm conditions action for tarpon, jacks, Spanish and alike should be accessible. My advice is to move around and keep looking for active fish. If the rains stay away for a few days things should settle into a pattern again and the fishing will improve.

Until Next Time,

Tight-Lines To All

Sincerely,

Capt. Ron
