Indian River Lagoon - Saltwater Fishing Report

Capt. Ron Bielefeld's Indian River Lagoon Flats Fishing Report - Sebastian Area
Hey all you fisher people out there. Get out and go fishing. The fish are still active in certain areas around Sebastian. Especially, if you can find some bait and area that has not been disturbed too recently. Some large trout are out and about early and late. Smaller trout, but many over 15 inches have been active until near noon. Top-water plugs remain a good way to attract some action, and what better action is there than top-water. Hey even smaller fish are exciting when they hit the surface. A few reds and snook also have been hitting the surface early. However, the better snook bite, at least for this guide has been in the evenings. If you find feeding fish they will take soft baits as well, but the pinfish will likely deplete your supply quickly. Same with live baits. The largest trout have been taken from undisturbed areas, so keep as quiet as possible and avoid areas that have had a lot of activity if you want the larger fish to hit. Wading is always a good idea, but be aware that many of the flats are attracting large over 6 ft. sharks.
Until Next Time,
Tight-Lines to All.
Sincerely,
Capt. Ron
