Cold Fronts Pushing Sailfish Through

Capt. Marc Toledo
February 10, 2015
Islamorada - Saltwater Fishing Report

Well the cold front we got a week ago has pushed a lot of Sailfish in to the fishing charters of Islamorada, Florida the last few days. Captain Marc went 5 for 8, two days ago. The fish have been pushing showers up on the reef and eating many baits like Ballyhoo, Cigar Minnows, Pilchards. This is a very exciting way to catch Sailfish here in the Florida Keys.

Captain Marc is fishing the Poor Girls Sailfish Tournament today with a bunch of Lady Anglers. The Cobias have also been biting the last few days with a lot of fish in the 15 to 30 pound range. Cobias love live Grunts so make sure you have a few in the live well this time of year. The Kingfish bite also picked up the last few days. With all the Sailfish Tournaments going on right now, not many boats have gone out to the Humps to Tuna Fish so we don't have a report from there for you. The bottom fishing has been good for Mangrove and Mutton Snappers and some nice fish have been coming off the patch reefs in 15 to 25 feet of water also south of Alligator Light.
