Deep Dropping, Islamorada.

Islamorada - Saltwater Fishing Report

This past week has been real calm. Visibility great on the water. I have been looking for new grounds to fish and found that these waters hold many treasures down deep. The bite down there has been great. From 280 to 800ft. Chicken rigs with squid seem to work best but fresh cut chunks of bonita or tuna work as well. Read the bottom reader and look for marks at these depths. Then just drop it down. Vermillion snapper is good around 300ft. Between 500 and 600, the tile fish have been very active. Good size Snowy and Yellow Edge grouper with them as well. For the big fish just use big baits. They are there. Dolphin are still around so keep an eye out for them and the Tuna are biting at the hump.

Islamorada Fishing Forecast:

Look for sailfish making their way through and bigger dolphin showing up closer to land.

Target Species:

Tile fish, Grouper
