Grouper Bite is on near Alligator

Capt. Kristian Demblans
May 27, 2014
Islamorada - Saltwater Fishing Report

The Grouper is a very sought after species here off the reefs. Not many people catch them using the trolling method but it really works. The bite is excellent but has to be done correctly.Speed and bait presentation is very important. Yellowtail snapper fishing continues to be great in deep water (100ft.+) as well as shallower spots. The Greater Amberjack are still crowding the deep stuctures. Its nothing to drop a bait live or not and get one. You must really know where to go but if you do, you can catch your limit easily. The Mahi have made their return but are still spotty on some days. We still look foward to an awesome blackfin tuna bite but its right around the corner.

Target Species:

Grouper and Amberjack
