Islamorada Backcountry and Flats

Islamorada - Saltwater Fishing Report

Greetings from the Florida Keys. September is drawing to a close and cooler weather is just around the corner. Fishing the past few weeks has been hit or miss. Bonefishing continues to be just about the hardest thing to do on the water. My strategy for bonefish right now is fishing only when I have a perfect tide and giving it an hour or so. If the fish are there great but if not I change the game plan entirely and go look for something else. Thankfully the redfishing has been so good. Some days are easier than others but there have been some solid fish around that haven't hesitated to eat a fly. Tarpon are still hanging in the usual places. October is a great month for permit so get out on the water!
