Islamorada sailfish, wahoo, big mutton snapper!

Capt. Bruce Andersen
January 19, 2014
Islamorada - Saltwater Fishing Report

We've had a great week of fishing down here in Islamorada this week. The sailfish bite started off very good on Tuesday. We had a strong northeast current and the sail bite was hot. We released 7 sails that day. All on live ballyhoo in the 110 to 160' depths. The next few days saw more sails with a few nice wahoo as well. We caught the wahoo high speed trolling just outside the edge of the reef in about the same depths we've been catching the sails. We also hit a few wrecks this week and released a few nice black grouper and red snapper while managing to put some amberjacks and nice mutton snapper in the fish box.
