Patch reef fishing red hot in Islamorada!

Capt. Kristian Demblans
February 23, 2014
Islamorada - Saltwater Fishing Report

As this time of year is known for windy days,The guys on the REEL G say, " why not go patch fishing". Cool water temps allow for this spectacular fishery to be at its prime. While on patches two things are important. Lots of chum, and please stay off the actual rocks. Once anchored approx. 100 ft from the patch reef you'll catch yellow tail snapper, mangrove snapper, the elusive mutton snapper. Grouper, cero mackerel, king mackerel, Spanish mackerel. even triple tail, cobia if some debree has drifted in passed the reef line. well you get the idea. lots of fish.

Islamorada Fishing Forecast:

The patch reef fishing should continue to be strong as long as the water temps stay cool. warmer water temps usually drive fish into deeper water.

Target Species:

Mutton snapper
